The Sydney XL garden spike light is distinguished by its size. It is a robust, eye-catching LED garden spotlight that spreads the light better thanks to its large head (Ø 91 mm) and can effectively illuminate large objects or spacious areas in your garden or home with ease. For this, use a GU10 spotlight with a luminous intensity of 700 lumens (not included). Add atmosphere to your garden by aiming the tiltable luminaire at trees, bushes, hedges or fences as desired. Suitable for GU10 spotlights (also dimmable and smart) 

The Sydney garden spike light comes without a light source. The luminaire of the Sydney LED garden spike light has a GU10 fitting, which means that any GU10 bulb fits in the Sydney garden spike light. The advantage of this is that you can determine the light colour and energy consumption yourself. Go for an atmospheric 3000K warm white bulb, a dimmable light source or opt for a smart bulb. Our smart lamps work via Wi-Fi and are easy to control via the Hoftronic Smart app on your phone. Choose from 16.5 million colours (RGB + all shades of white) at the touch of a button on your smartphone via an intuitive colour wheel. Please note that the wattage of the GU10 spotlight is a maximum of 20 watts.

Easy mounting 

Each Sydney XL garden spike light has a 1-metre cable connected without a plug. The garden spotlight is easy to mount in the ground or on the wall.

1. In the ground: Insert the ground stake in the desired location and connect the Sydney spike light to it.
   
   
2. On the wall: Remove the ground spike with the supplied Allen key. Fix the spotlight to the wall with a screw and a plug.

This is all you need (not included): 

• GU10 spotlight
• 1x straight cable connector IP68
• Ground or power cable
• Shovel (for ground installation)
• 1x screw + 1x plug (for wall mounting)  

Installing garden spike lights step by step:

1. First switch off the power of the groups you will be working with.
2. Choose the location for your garden spotlights. Make sure the ground is suitable for installing the ground stake. Avoid places where water can remain, and make sure you place the ground cable at least 60 cm deep.
3. Insert the ground stake of the garden spotlight in the desired location, and then connect the spotlight to the ground stake. Make sure the garden spotlight is placed firmly and straight.
4. The spike light has a 1-metre cable. Insert the three wires of the cable into one end of an IP68 cable connector.
5. In the same way, connect the wires of the ground cable to the other end of the cable connector. 
6. Connect the ground cable to the desired power point in your garden.
7. Turn the power back on and enjoy your new, atmospheric garden lighting!

Would you like to install several garden spike lights to illuminate your garden optimally? No problem! You can easily connect the LED garden spike lights to each other. Use waterproof cable connectors which you can order directly with the Sydney XL garden spike lights.  
 
To calculate how many T-shaped cable connectors you need, use the following rule of thumb: take the number of garden spotlights you have and subtract one. You also need one straight cable connector. To install, follow the steps as described above, but keep the following for steps 4 and 5: 
 
Insert the three wires of the cable into the longest end of a T-shaped cable connector. Similarly, connect the wires of the ground cable to a short end of the cable connector. Use the straight cable connector for the last spot. Finally, continue with steps 6 and 7 as above.
