LED Dimmers
LED dimmers are available in all kinds. For example, there are both trailing edge and leading edge dimmers. Different types of LED lighting may require a different LED dimmer. You can determine the light intensity for every occasion or activity. This way you want to make the room cosy from time to time by dimming the lights, and when you want to read a book you increase the light intensity again.
Why are LED lights flashing?
When you want to dim your LED lighting it is of course the intention that it is dimmable. If this is not the case, it is possible that your LED lights will blink when you try to dim them, or they may even break. You don't want that. So always make sure that the LED lights you buy and want to dim are dimmable. This is simply stated on the packaging, and can also be found in the product information text.
Advantages of an LED dimmer
When you buy an LED dimmer for your LED lighting in your home, you will experience the benefits of the LED dimmer:
- Saving energy. With an LED dimmer you make sure that your LED lights are not always on 100%. This means that the LED lights consume less power, and therefore become a lot more energy efficient.
- Longer lifespan of the LED lamp. Just as you save energy by dimming your lighting, you also save on the life span of the lighting. Because you don't always let the lamp work 100%, the lifespan is extended. This saves on replacement costs.
- Atmosphere creation. The LED dimmers ensure that you can determine the right light intensity for every situation, occasion and activity. For example, at one moment you want extra light because you have to work at home for a day. Then you leave the LED lights on 100% in luminous intensity. Want to watch a movie on the couch in the evening with a bowl of popcorn? Then you want to dim your lighting until a cosy atmosphere is created.
