LED E14 bulb
LED bulbs are an excellent replacement for the old and traditional halogen lighting and incandescent bulbs. These old bulbs often have a higher wattage and therefore consume more power than LED lighting. It is not surprising that more and more people are switching to LED.
Which fitting do I need?
If you have made the choice to switch to sustainable LED bulbs, it is important that you know which fitting you need. At INTOLED we make a distinction between the following fittings:
E14 LED bulb: The LED bulbs with an E14 fitting can be found in this category. Both the E14 LED bulb and the E27 have a swivel fitting. The technology behind these fittings is exactly the same. The only difference between an E14 LED bulb and an E27 LED bulb is the size of the fitting.
E27 LED bulb: The E27 fitting is the large variant of the E14 fitting. E27 LED bulbs fit into the fitting of incandescent or halogen lighting with the same size fitting.
GU10 spots: The GU10 LED Spot fitting is a different type of fitting than the E14 and E27. You will find this fitting in particular with LED spots and not with LED bulbs.
It is wise to make a good inventory of which bulbs you need for switching to LED bulbs. If you buy LED bulbs with the same fitting, it is a matter of turning the E14 LED bulb into the fitting.
E14 LED bulbs: durable and cheap
It is no surprise that E14 LED bulbs are sustainable and better for the environment. Yet it is also a cheaper option than halogen lighting. Where LED was very expensive to produce years ago, it is now different. It is therefore a smart investment to switch to LED lighting. The consumption of an LED E14 bulb is many times lower than that of an incandescent bulb or halogen bulb. This can also be seen in the wattage of the bulbs. Where old lighting had a wattage of 35W or higher, it starts with LED bulbs from 2 W. Despite the lower wattage, this does not mean that the E14 LED bulb generates less light. Due to the high number of lumens per watt, the light output of an LED E14 bulb is at least as good as an incandescent bulb with a higher wattage.
This means that you do not have to search for bulbs with the same wattage for new lighting. Are you looking for a replacement for an incandescent bulb of 100W? Then an E14 LED bulb of 12W is enough.
